The New Providence Memorial Library is proud to present this year's Summer Reading program, Reach New Heights!

Books take us on journeys and open our minds to all possibilities. Our library has books for every age, every interest, and every reader. We have wonderful incentives to keep all ages reading this summer through the ReadSquared website and mobile app. It couldn't be easier!

1. Register online starting Monday, June 26.
2. Log your reading & activities through Friday, August 11.
3. Earn prizes from our treasure chests + enter to win our drawings for gift cards & grand prizes!  

 

 

How to Register online

1. Install the READsquared app. Or use the R2 website: newprovidencelibrary.readsquared.com
2. Click Register Now to create your account. You can register yourself as well as your children, but do NOT choose group registration! You can link any family members to your account.
3. Fill in the information requested. Jot down your username and password. Once you are registered, you can sign into your account.
4. Keep track of your reading progress on the home screen. Plus, check out the fun features of READsquared - complete missions, view events and more!
5. View your family's accounts. Under Account on the side menu, click "Family Accounts".

PRESCHOOL (Ages 0-4)
Track Your Paper Bingo Sheets in READSquared
• 300 points - Complete 5 in-a-row activities on PreK Summer Bingo Sheet (which can be picked up at the library after you register) and log the sheet in ReadSquared once complete.  Pick up your next Bingo Sheet and repeat!

Pick up your Prizes* at the Library
• When you earn 300 & 600 & 900 points - Choose a prize from the Prize Chest.
• Reach Goal of 900 points - Get a raffle ticket to enter the drawing for a free bag of books from our book store!  The winner gets to choose their own books.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (Grades K-5)
Track Your Progress in READSquared
• 25 points - Read a picture book
• 100 points - Read a chapter book
• 100 points - Complete a Mission

Pick up your Prizes* at the Library
• When you earn 300 & 600 points - Entry into Gift Card Raffle and Choose from the Prize Chest
• Reach Goal of 900 points - Choose from the Prize Chest and get a raffle ticket for the grand prize drawing for a trip to the Turtleback Zoo*

*Limit of one grand prize winner per family

TEENS (Grades 6-12)

Track Your Progress in READSquared 

  • 75 points - Each Volunteer shift
  • 100 points - Participate in the Foodie Challenge Mission
  • 150 points - Read or Listen to any Book

Pick up your Prizes* at the Library  

  • When you earn 300 & 600 points - Gift card raffle ticket + choose a prize from the chest
  • Reach Goal of 900 points - Gift card raffle ticket + raffle ticket for the Kindle paperwhite* drawing

ADULTS

Track Your Progress in READSquared
(or pick up a Book Bingo sheet at the library if you prefer to participate offline.)

  • 50 points - Attend an Event
  • 100 points - Complete a mission
  • 150 points - Read or Listen to any YA or adult book (ebooks count too!)

Pick up at Library Get Your Prizes* at the Library

  • When you earn 300 & 600 points - Gift card raffle ticket + choose a prize from the chest 
  • Reach Goal of 900 points - Gift card raffle ticket + raffle ticket for the Kindle paperwhite* drawing

*Limit of one grand prize winner per family

 

TEEN VOLUNTEERS: Sign Up for Summer Shifts
Students entering 8th-12th grades can sign up for 2-hour shifts* to assist in this year's Summer Reading Program, "Reach New Heights"

Volunteer responsibilities include:
• Helping readers register online
• Giving out prizes as readers reach reading milestones
• Helping prepare crafts for programs and a
ssisting with other projects as needed

You can request materials in our online catalog from any member library to be delivered here for you to pickup, if we don't have what you need in house.
