Ebooks

New Providence Memorial Library is proud to offer these e-book services:

Overdrive

You can access Overdrive e-books one of two ways:

Log in with your library card barcode number. Your PIN is the last four digits of your library card barcode number.

Some Overdrive e-books have waitlists. There is a limit of 5 loans at a time and 5 holds at a time. You may search for a particular e-book, or browse the e-books.

Overdrive also offers audiobooks, so double check that you're borrowing the correct format.

Hoopla Digital

Read e-books on your tablet or phone with the free Hoopla Digital app

You may also read these e-books in your Internet browser at HooplaDigital.com

Click "Get Started Today" to set up an account using your email address and library card number. Your PIN is the last 4 digits of your library card number. You may check out up to five Hoopla items per month.

Hoopla e-books never have waitlists.  However, if the library-wide daily budget cap has been reached, you will get an error message when you try to check out an item.  In that case, try to check your item out again the next day, or anytime after midnight.

Search for a particular e-book, browse the e-books or check our our staff recommendations for Hoopla. Hoopla also offers audiobooks, so double check that you are borrowing the correct format.

Sunlight to read by

Spring is sprouting with crocuses and evening sunlight. It's a great time to shake of the winter cobwebs and get outdoors.

Take a walk to the library to check out a book, and use the natural light to read a little longer. You can browse our full catalog from anywhere. If you'll be out getting some exercise, try downloading an audiobook to keep you going. You can even stream music from Hoopla to add a little rhythm to your day. If you're suffering from cabin fever, the library is a great place to visit, no matter the weather. Pick up a Library Travelers Passport and collect stamps in our Around the World Community Read!  Attend one of our great free events for kids, teens or adults, including Makers Day weekend March 24-25.

There's so much to do at your local library. Mark down dates from our Calendar to add to yours. Join us!
