Digital Audiobooks

New Providence Memorial Library offers 2 downloadable audiobook services, Hoopla and Overdrive.

Temporary free access has been granted to the library for Audio BookCloud through August 31, due to the pandemic.

Hoopla audiobooks are always available, but Overdrive audiobooks may have a waitlist.  If you like classics & nonfiction audiobooks, try Hoopla first.  If you like thrillers, fantasy, historical and suspense fiction, try Overdrive first.

Hoopla

hoopla module

Listen to audiobooks from HooplaDigital.com on your tablet or phone with the free Hoopla Digital app.  You may also listen to these audiobooks in your Internet browser.

Click "Get Started Today" to set up an account using your email address and library card number.  Hoopla audiobooks never have waitlists.  You may check out up to 5 Hoopla items per month. You may search for a particular audiobook, or browse the audiobooks.

To make sure you are checking out an audiobook, not an e-book, look for the headphone symbol in the corner of the book's cover.

Hoopla has a daily budget cap.  If that day's budget limit has been reached, you won't be able to borrow anything.  Please try again the next day, as early as possible.
