A community read event is an effort to get the whole community reading a related topic at the same time.
This year, we're reading books set in or about the 1920s as we celebrate the NP Library's 100th Anniversary! Our library was founded in 1921, just at the start of the decade that would come to be known as The Roaring Twenties. It was a time of economic prosperity & consumerism following World War I. This decade included the Jazz Age, the Harlem Rennaisance, Prohibition, racial unrest, courtroom battles between science and religion, infamous gangsters, political corruption, and the birth of Hollywood. There is so much to read about this era, whatever your interests may be.
Browse through our Community Read title lists for each age group below. Click the Age Group Header to go directly to our catalog where you can check out these great books set during the 1920s or about this historic decade.
