Audiovisual Materials Lending Policy
AUDIO VISUAL MATERIALS LENDING POLICY
DVDs
DVDs may be borrowed by persons with a valid New Providence Memorial Library card, a valid Morris Union Federation (MUF) library card or a valid Middlesex Union Reciprocal Associated Libraries (MURAL) library card. They must be in good standing. A library card or proper identification must be presented when these items are borrowed.
Children’s entertainment DVDs designated as JDVD may be checked out by all cardholders. All other DVDs including Adult entertainment DVDs designed as ADVD and non-entertainment type DVDs (education, heath, travel, instructional, etc.) may only be checked out by cardholders 18 years or older.
Entertainment DVDs and videos designated as “New” are loaned for 3 days. All other entertainment DVDs and videos are loaned for 7 days. Non-entertainment type DVDs (educational, health and safety, travel, instructional, etc.) are loaned for 7 days at no charge.
All DVDs and videos may be renewed once if there is no holds list.
DVDs and videos may be lent through the library’s interlibrary loan (ILL) system.
Audio books
Audio books on CD may be borrowed by persons who are in good standing and possess a valid New Providence Memorial Library card, a valid MUF library card or a valid MURAL library card. The cardholder must be in good standing. A library card or proper identification must be presented when these items are borrowed.
Audio books designated as “New” may be borrowed for a period of 14 days. All other audio books may be borrowed for a period of 28 days.
Audio books may be renewed 1 time as long as they are not on hold for another patron.
Audio books may be lent through the library’s Interlibrary Loan (ILL) program.
Music CDs
Music CDs may be borrowed by persons who are in good standing and possess a valid New Providence Memorial Library card, a valid MUF library card or a valid MURAL library card. A library card or proper identification must be presented when these items are borrowed.
The loan period for music CDs is 28 days. They may be renewed 1 time as long as they are not on hold for another patron.
Music CDs may be lent through the library’s Interlibrary Loan (ILL) program.
